Chekutty app piloting was done on Sep 21st and model of the same was launched by Gopi Kallayil, Chief Brand Evangelist of Google at the Google Headquarters in Mountain View , California. Gopi, IIMC Alumni, author of two best selling titles, and a native of Kerala is a senior management personnel at Google HQ. Chekutty – the mascot symbolizing the resilience of Kerala from the great floods of 2018 has gone viral across social media with Malayalees across the world crowdsourcing and getting involved in making the mascot with the stained sarees of Chennamangalam as solidarity to the cause and to revive the weaving community of Chendamagalam. The government of Kerala has endorsed Chekutty as the poster image of the resilience.
Lakshmi N Menon, Co-founder of the concept Chekutty initiated the launch event at the Google HQ.

Gopi was accompanied by senior engineers and native of Kerala Kishore Subramaniam, and Joshy Joseph. Gopi Kallayil while launching the app has given some valid suggestions to make it robust and functional.
